Study Permit
In most cases, foreign students require study permits in order to attend any educational institution or program in Canada; however, there are number of exemptions. For a foreign student to obtain a study permit, the foreign student must provide an acceptance letter from the educational institution, proof of payment of tuition fees, a bank account that has a sufficient fund, biometric, and medical examination, and other requirements. Upon satisfying all requirements, the office will issue a study permit to the foreign student. Additionally, foreign student may be required to obtain a visa if it is compulsory to obtain a visa from the foreign student’s country of origin. Furthermore, it is important to mention that the study permit must be applied for before entering Canada. In some cases, international students can apply to a work permit and work during their period of study.
